System Requirements
Before installing, make sure your computer meets these requirements:
Operating System
Windows 7 or later (Windows 10/11 recommended)
Processor & RAM
2 GHz dual-core minimum, 4GB RAM (8GB recommended)
Storage
500MB free space (2GB+ for data files)
Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1: Download the Installer
- Log in to the Members Portal Downloads page
- Find "GSB Pro Online Trial Setup" in the downloads list
- Click the Download button
- Save the .msi file to your computer (usually to your Downloads folder)
Your browser or Windows may show a security warning because the file isn't commonly downloaded yet. This is normal for specialized software. The file is safe to install.
If blocked: Click "More info" on the SmartScreen warning, then click "Run anyway". See the Downloads page for detailed instructions on handling security warnings.
Step 2: Run the Installer
- Locate the downloaded .msi file (GSBSetup_OnlineTrial...msi)
- Double-click to start the installer
- If Windows SmartScreen appears, click "More info" then "Run anyway"
- Follow the on-screen prompts, accepting the default installation location
- Wait for the installation to complete (usually 1-2 minutes)
Step 3: Activate Your Trial License
- Launch GSB Pro from your Start Menu or Desktop shortcut
- The License Activation window will appear on first launch
- Your trial license is tied to your account email—enter it when prompted
- Click Activate to activate your 14-day trial
- You should see a confirmation that your trial is active
Your trial starts when you activate, not when you download. Take your time with installation, but once you activate, your 14-day countdown begins.
Step 4: First Launch
- After activation, GSB Pro will load the main interface
- You should see the main workspace with panels on the left and center
- Don't worry about understanding everything yet—we'll cover the interface in the next lesson
- For now, just confirm the application opens and runs without errors
Data Setup: For When You Purchase
During your 14-day trial, you'll use GSB's included sample data. But when you purchase a full license, you'll want to work with your own trading data from your favorite markets.
GSB makes it easy to bring in data from the platforms you already use:
TradeStation & MultiCharts
Export historical data from TradeStation or MultiCharts directly into GSB Pro. Set up a symbol and contract for your desired market and timeframe.
See Strategy Guide for data import details →NinjaTrader
GSB Pro integrates with NinjaTrader. Import data from your NinjaTrader markets to build and test systems on the same data you trade with.
See Strategy Guide for NinjaTrader integration →Symbol & Contract Setup
Once you have data loaded, you'll set up a symbol (like ES, NQ, 6E) and define the contract specifications (point value, margin, etc.). This tells GSB how to properly calculate results for your market.
See Strategy Guide for symbol setup →Don't worry about this now—your trial includes everything you need. This is just a preview of what you'll unlock with your full license.
